PFP Ireland has been assessed to LPS 1531, the leading certification scheme for companies involved in the installation or application of passive fire protection products.
As an LPS 1531 approved installation contractor, PFP Ireland can now issue a Certificate of Conformity for each passive fire protection installation, as recommended in the Building Regulations ‘Approved Document Part B’.
PFP Ireland director Chris Barry said: “Passive fire protection products, which are designed to protect life and property in the event of a fire, can easily be compromised by poor installation or application.
“This standard is designed to ensure that those who install or apply passive fire protection products are trained and have the necessary skills and technical ability to do this correctly.
“Achieving the standard is a significant investment for PFP Ireland, but we believe it is essential to assure clients that their fire protection has been completed to the highest possible standard by professionals who have been subject to the standards set by LPS 1531, including bi-annual audits.”
The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), part of BRE Global, is the leading international certification body in the fields of security and fire protection. LPCB approval is recognised by governments and regulatory authorities across the world, especially in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Assessment of LPS 1531 involves an office audit, site installation inspection and on-going site surveillance inspections. For further information on PFP Ireland’s LPS 1531 approval, or our other quality standards, please contact Chris Barry at info@pfp-ireland.ie or call +353 (0)1 536 3288.
